HALLOWEEN PARTY IDEAS FOR KIDS
HALLOWEEN PARTIES CAN BE THE BEST PARTIES OF THE YEAR ALL YOU NEED, IS A LITTLE KNOW HOW
Halloween most likely has more parties than almost any other day of the year (excluding New Years Eve of course). People will love to dress up and pretend they’re someone else for a night, it's a chance to be creative and self expressive to the extreme. Most people end up with more than one invitation to Halloween parties so they will want to look scarily fantastic.
If you’re thinking of throwing a Halloween party, how do you convince people to choose yours over the others? A creative, unique theme. That's How!
Most people don’t plan a theme beyond “wear a costume” at Halloween. Just giving your party a more specific theme will give it an edge and help it to stand out from the crowd.
Most people will choose the traditional “spooky” type of Halloween party and have everyone come as their favorite ghost, horror movie character or monster.
A spooky party will probably be one of the easiest to find party favors and decorations for as it tends to be the most common theme for Halloween.
BUT WAIT A MOMENT!
There are lots of other themes you can try. For example, what about a famous couples party, everyone comes as a famous couple? Or maybe a movie theme night where everyone comes as their favorite Star Wars character.
There are many, many more to choose from so here are just a few to inspire you.
1. CRAZY HAT PARTY
This theme is great for toddlers and young children.
Many young children struggle with Halloween as they can't always distinguish between what is or isn't real. They don't realize it is just someone dressed up in a costume, in their mind it's a monster out to get them.
Bonus: If you use bits from around the home and from the arts and crafts box they will cost you next to nothing to make.
2. PIRATE PARTY
A great theme for kids of all ages. From tots to teens, girls and boys this theme is an all round winner in the eyes of kids.
Whether your throwing a party for a tot or teen, girl or boy, a pirate party is sure to be a hit. Pirate costumes can be as simple or elaborate as you like and that goes for the decorations too.
If your a craft hand at making things then you could make lots of items for this party yourself and if it's a tots party you could make an afternoon of making things for the party with the kids.
If crafting isn't your thing, then check out local shops (poundland, Wilko etc) and online stores including ebay and amazon and grab yourself a bargin.
3. FUTURE OR SCI-FI PARTY
Think Star Wars, Twilight Zone, Star Trek, metallics and anything Alien
Now this is the party to choose if you want the man in your life and other male relatives to help. If like mine your other half hates helping with parties, this party is the perfect choice. Now, he might not like parties but he is a self confessed Sci-Fi geek (his nickname is SHELDON!).
This theme allows adults to re-live their childhoods and the kids to have a fantastic, out of this world party. Top Tip For Mum: Go grab a seat, sit back and relax with a hot coffee for a change, lol (Lets face it, it doesn't happen very often).
4. DEAD GLAMOUR
A fabulous party for tween and teen girls
Last Halloween was probably one of the best we've ever had. My tween daughter decided that she wanted several themes going on in different parts of the house for her party. But most of all she wanted the front room to be very glitz and glam with a hint of punk rock. Not an easy task right? Wrong!
It was probably one of the easiest parties I've ever done and here are a few tips on how you to can create that Dead glamour look.
When creating the perfect glam party think sweet 16 with a twist. Look for skulls that are covered in glitter, metallic and candy skulls. Print off some pictures of handsome looking vampires (edward from twilight etc) and place in black and metallic frames.
You still want to add strange and quirky objects so use glow in the dark decorations such as plastic mice and bats.
Streamers and banners can be handmade, you can add glitter, feathers and paint the bottom of banners to look like running blood. Do this in pink or black and top with glitter to add that glam look. The possibilities are endless.
When it comes to costumes distressed princess style dresses, punk princess dresses and fallen angels work well.
Top Tip: Add some music reactive disco/laser lights (you can get these quite cheap online) and a smoke machine to finish off the look.

When you’re planning your party, one of the most important things is the menu. Food is always an important part of any party. It could be a full meal or just finger foods, but be creative with what you serve. Try to work the food into the theme of the party.
For example, you could make some ladyfingers that actually look like severed fingers.
If you start to plan your party early, you’ll leave yourself lots of time to get everything organized. Get some help from friends or family if you need it, and remember – planning the party is half the fun!
